16. Posterior Mold Piece

The posterior portion of the wax prototype was covered with a thin coat of petrolium jelly. Silicone was poured into the mold with the cast angled posteriorly so that the silicone remained posterior to the helical rim. Then registration marks were cut in this posterior mold piece.
