Description:
These illustrations were used to report a series of cases where the canalplasty for external auditory canal atresia was performed before a standard staged microtia reconstruction. (A) A wide post-aruicular incision and (B) approach provide exposure for the canalplasty.
After healing from the canalplasty occurs, a standard staged microtia reconstruction begins by (C) making an incision anterior to the auricular reminant, (D) undermining posteriorly to create a pocket for (E) insertion of the cartilage framework.
