These illustrations appear in the Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Patient Information Brochure titled, "Understanding Cleft Care" which is intended for parents of a child with a cleft lip or palate. The top illustration shows an infant before cleft lip repair. The second picture illustrates the significant anatomical features of normal and cleft lips. The third illustration shows the important anatomy of normal and cleft palates. The final illustration features a child and her scar after cleft repair.

Pencil illustration modified and colored in Photoshop 5.5. The gray pencil lines were changed to sepia brown and color tones developed using Photoshop.
